Niamh has experience in leading curriculum and pastoral teams in her eleven year teaching career. As an outstanding leader in the Royal Borough Teaching Alliance, she has been invited to review and help support colleagues in raising standards within other Art Departments.
Her strengths lie in curriculum development with a focus on how to engage and motivate pupils in the classroom and beyond. Niamh can advise on how to raise the profile of your subject by promoting and establishing an ethos that is imbued on all levels in a school, ultimately raising the expectations and attitude of pupils.
Niamh has designed and lead teaching and learning inset sessions on ‘Creativity in the Classroom’, inspiring primary and secondary teachers from the Tri Borough to develop imaginative cross curricular practices in the classroom.
Her expertise in assessment has demonstrated exemplar assessment strategies in the Art Department and she worked to develop and implement a new ‘assessment without levels’ structure at her school. She works as a moderator for AQA exam board and is well prepared to help Art departments understand the new specifications and assessment at GCSE and A Level.
As an outstanding teacher and leader, Niamh can confidently enable staff to evaluate their professional progress in a sensitive and supportive way, encouraging them to be reflective practitioners with the highest of expectations.
“I have been absolutely delighted with the work that Niamh has done for us. It has been a real pleasure having her in school and the quality of her report was wonderful.”
